SOUTHERN SHORES DECEIVED PROPERTY OWNERS BY CHANGING LOT WIDTH REQUIREMENTS AFTER PUBLICIZING A HEARING TO CLARIFY LOT WIDTH

Most middle school aged children in North Carolina Schools will be able to tell you that "CLARIFY" and "CHANGE" have two completely different meanings as shown on the lot width diagram on the right.  However, Wes Haskett has cost Southern Shore's more than $80,000 in legal costs (so far) arguing that he legally changed a lot width requirement when the facts are that he advertised a hearing to "CLARIFY" lot width requirements in the Coastland Times and Wes Haskett has yet to provide proof that he advertised a hearing to CHANGE lot width requirements.  Now Southern Shores has another opportunity to correct Wes Haskett's misconduct by approving ZTA 36-414(a)(2) which will nullify amendments made without newspaper publication notice of the hearing's purpose.  The attached diagram shows how Wes Haskett's illegally adopted lot width amendment changes subdividable lots to unsubdividable, something realtors have indicated significantly reduces property value.
